Julie Cameron was born and grew up in England. She studied Clinical Sciences at university and, after a short spell in industry, has worked as both a clinician and a manager in the National Health Service. An inveterate book-lover, particularly thrillers, she finally decided to try her own hand at writing - which resulted in the completion of Only Truth. Julie has one daughter and lives in a small village in the Berkshire countryside, where she shares her home with her husband and two happy cats. She is now working on her next novel, balancing her time between family, her writing and a full time career. In the little leisure time she has left she enjoys nothing better than an evening with friends in the village pub, or relaxing on a Greek beach with a good book.
""Blending domestic and serial-killer thrillers (with an unreliable
narrator, to boot), Cameron skillfully wrangles all these elements
into a strong page-turner with a compelling main character in Izzy.
Recommend this one to readers who enjoyed Riley Sager's Home before
Dark (2020) and Lisa Unger's The Red Hunter (2017)."" -- Christine
Tran - Booklist
"A deep plunge into a haunted psyche slowly stretched to the breaking point. More, please." -- Kirkus
"Cameron slowly revs up the suspense to an exciting crescendo in this intriguing game of cat and mouse." -- Publishers Weekly
"Cameron handles the narrative like a pro. Isabel is such a substantial character, with her painful history and complex interior life, that she dominates the story [...] Like her main character, Cameron has a Gothic sensibility that complements her uncanny sense of place. Her descriptions of the Lodge, the coach house and the extensive grounds of the estate have a 19th-century vibe, suggesting skeletons in the closet and ghosts in the wings. For all her mastery of the spooky trappings of suspense, Cameron also respects another, more fundamental element of the form - plotting." -- Marilyn Stasio - The New York Times
