Al Bernstein (Foreword) is known to millions on both sides of the Atlantic as an award winning sports commentator for ESPN, Showtime and Great Britain's Channel 5. At the core of his skill set, he is a writer. He used this talent to chronicle his great broadcasting career and interesting life in his new book "30 Years, 30 Undeniable Truths." He also announced boxing for NBC at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. Most recently, he became the first American to join Great Britain's Channel 5 as an analyst on their boxing series. Once a pioneer of cable television, Al is now forging a new road on the internet as Executive Producer of www.BoxingChannel.tv, the first all boxing channel every created. In addition, through his company Al Bernstein Live, he continues to criss-cross the world as a speaker, emcee and spokesperson for businesses and nonprofit organizations. Reviews

"Ultimately, Candace Toft has crafted a story of hardship and triumph. This is a tale that shows how a man is defined not only by his losses, but by his many victories in life, as well as in the ring."-Bert Sugar, Author, My View from the Corner
"Absorbing...Toft has done an admirable job of marshalling the facts of Lyle's often troubled, but strangely compelling life..."-John Exshaw, Boxing Monthly
"In her deeply researched biography of Denver's rugged contender, Candace Toft shows that Lyle's battles inside the ring, though dramatic, were mere shadows compared with the harrowing but ultimately redemptive journey of his life. Off the Ropes is a reminder that boxers, like the rest of us, have to keep fighting, even when the bright lights have gone down and the crowds gone home."-Paul Beston, author of The Boxing Kings: When American Heavyweights Ruled the Ring
"[Ron Lyle's] life was a remarkable one and the story of it worth re-telling, which makes the book's new edition thoroughly welcome. Off The Ropes is absolutely recommended reading."-Gary Lucken, Boxing Monthly
