Kieran Scott was a non-blonde cheerleader in high school (though she experimented with Sun-In often and with psychedelic results). A graduate of Rutgers University, Kieran grew up in Montvale, New Jersey and now lives with her husband, Matt, in Westwood, just a few towns away. She is currently working hard on her next novel featuring Annisa.
PW wrote that I Was a Non-Blonde Cheerleader's "good, clean fun is downright infectious." Fans can get another fix from Kieran Scott's sequel, A Non-Blonde Cheerleader in Love. When the Sand Dune High cheering squad goes co-ed, Annisa finds herself in the middle of a showdown between the sexes. (Putnam, $16.99 272p ages 12-up ISBN 978-0-399-24494-0; June) Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
Gr 8-10-This sequel to I Was a Non-Blonde Cheerleader (2005) and Brunettes Strike Back (2006, both Putnam) finds Annisa Gobrowski and her cheerleading squad, the newly crowned national champion Sand Dune High Crabs, facing a new challenge-their team is going coed. At first, Annisa is pumped-especially after her boyfriend makes the cut-but, before long, she finds herself facing off against Daniel in an all-out battle of the sexes. In the end, school spirit wins out and the girls and guys learn to work together, but not before both sides pull pranks on each other that not only threaten the teens' relationship, but also that of their two coaches. Fans of the first two books will eat up this latest installment and readers not familiar with Annisa and the Crabs will find themselves scrambling to catch up.-Robyn Zaneski, New York Public Library Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
