Reviews

"The No-Nonsense Guide to World History is vivid, informal and informative. Perhaps every professional historian should be required to write a history of the world in forty thousand words - nothing would be more conducive to humility." - Professor William Beinart, St Anthony's College, Oxford "To compact an all encompassing subject matter into such a slim volume must have been a daunting task for Chris Brazier. I could only admire the way he makes the task appear so effortless. Brazier, of New Internationlist is never less than provocative. He'll be criticised for his lack of neutrality but I actually quite enjoyed this aspect of the book. - Amazon 5-Star Customer Review "Never has so much been explained in so few words. The great volume of history can be daunting if you want to understand the big picture. Here at last you can read the whole story in just one small gem of a book. Give it to everyone you know. Education education education!" - Amazon 5-Star Customer Review "There's more to history than they year George III was born, acceded and died, there's more than Henry VIII's six wives. Did you know that things went on In India before we 'discovered' it and everywhere else as well? Brazier has given a far more balanced view of the world we live in, something you would never even knew existed if you'd done History at school!! Slightly oppinionated in places, the rest of it more than makes up for it - stick it in your dad's stocking at Christmas. - Amazon 5-Star Customer Review
