Eric Dorfman is the author of Sanctuary and Inside New Zealand's National Parks. Eric was born and raised in California. He moved to Australia to do his PhD on the behaviour of water birds and has worked as a wildlife ecologist in the United States, Australia, South Africa and the Pacific. He has written numerous articles on nature and ecology in both scholarly and popular journals. Formerly employed at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Eric is now a freelance writer and researcher living in Wellington.
