'... an excellent account of the various issues confronting Marxist theory at the end of the twentieth century.' -Ernest Laclau, Professor of Political Theory, University of Essex 'Can Marx ever be disinterred from the wreck of official communism? Munck.... looks forward to a "postmodern marxism" integrating cultural, feminist and ecological perspectives into an imaginative new synthesis. In doing so he provides a credible attempt to construct a socialist politics for the coming century.' -Robin Cohen, Professor of Sociology, University of Warwick 'Munck does not shrink from heavy criticism of marxism's economism, reductionism, androcentrism and eurocentrism. But his intention is by no means to dispose of Marx and marxism; rather he aims to elaborate a notion of "Marx live".' -David Walker, Editor, Studies in Marxism
