Marije Rowling was an art teacher in Holland before she came to study in England. A wife and mother, Marije has spent her time as a home-maker, crafter, artist and teacher, weaving the Waldorf thread into a very rich tapestry.
This is the second edition of The Children's Year, which has been in print and much loved for 30 years. There are lots and lots of ideas for characters for seasonal tables, toys, puppets, decorations and transparencies. Each project includes detailed instructions, helpful diagrams and coloured illustrations. Marije Rowling encourages us to use natural resources and what we can find around us, from cardboard boxes to wool, fabric, ribbon, lavender and conkers. I love the sense of the seasons this book provides alongside a wealth of crafting ideas. -- Saffia Farr * Juno Magazine, issue 52, Winter 2017 *
