This thrilling story "Lost in the Fjord" was written by the famous Icelandic author of children's books and Jesuit Jon Sveinsson. He was born on November 16, 1857, at a farmstead in North Iceland. When he was a boy his nickname was "Nonni" and that is why the 12 books about his adventures and experiences are called the "Nonni books." During the twentieth century readers of all ages throughout the world devoured the stories of his adventures and the Nonni books became bestsellers - published in approximately 40 languages. This is a new translation into English of the original German title "Nonni und Manni" ( originally in English "Lost in the Arctic" )which was written over one hundred years ago. It describes a dramatic event in the lives of two young Icelandic brothers. The action occurs in the large fjord next to the town of Akureyri in North Iceland. This event played a significant and life changing role in their future lives.
