I am Rebecca Burge and I have not always lived on a cattle property
in North Queensland. I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. I
completed my nursing before heading overseas for some time. On
returning I married Richard and we moved to Charters Towers where
we ran a newsagency for about ten years, while dreaming of owning a
cattle property one day.
Eventually we bought Lamonds Lagoon Station, four hours north of
Charters Towers. This has been home to us and our five boys for the
last fourteen years. I taught all the boys through Distance
Education, which was not an easy task and none of them were ideal
students. There have been many interesting stories along the way
and we have experienced all elements of nature.
I feel very blessed to have five healthy active boys all with
varying personalities and a wonderful husband who I love
dearly.
I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else and whatever befalls us does
not really matter as long as we are all healthy and happy.
