About the Author

Annica C. Törneryd grew up in Sweden, with her mother, stepfather, younger sister and brother. After high-school she travelled to the United States, California to work as an American Red Cross lifeguard. Then she learned French and worked as an au-pair (nanny) in the south of France. Annica has studied and worked in London, Paris, Stockholm and for the past 15 years she lives in Luxembourg. She had her three babies in a year!! First her oldest son, and then very quickly after that - twins! Since her twins were one year old (almost six years ago), she's been a single mom; working full-time with a busy job, constantly exhausted from lack of sleep, overwhelmed with all the work in the household, sad from being isolated from her family who lives 1300 kilometers away and crushed by the fact that her family is forever broken. After her third pneumonia in eleven months and a planned operation to remove gallstones that were stuck in the bile duct, her whole system finally collapsed. She had several panic attacks, both at home and in public places, and a massive burnout that totally knocked her off her feet, and almost off earth. In order to recover, she had to radically change a lot of things in her life. Everything basically! The first, and probably the most difficult step, was to start caring about herself. Once she realized that basically everything she does is for someone else, it was easier to understand why she felt so bad. With a constant fear of rejection, she was also rejecting herself and her feelings. Admitting to herself that she cares more about others than she does about herself was hard. She was scared to care "less" about others, as she was instantly judging herself for not being a nice person. It also sucked to realize that she's lived all these years belittling herself. The second huge step she took, was to decide to let go of her secure employment, in spite of strong opposition from pretty much everyone, and start her own coaching business. She now offers 1-on-1 and group coaching programs to women who are longing to live life on their own terms! She is very happy to have fulfilled her dream to write a book! Annica has started The Last Single Mom Fund to support single mothers who are struggling with overwhelm and different challenges. A part of the sales of her book The Last Single Mom, goes to the Fund, so by buying the book, you support the project!
