Roberta Lee was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and moved to California in the early '70's, living in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Cruz, and then returning to Bucks County in the mid-80's. She sold her first painting at age 16 and has been a working artist ever since. The majority of her paintings use subjects very close to her home--in many cases, literally in her own backyard. Roberta began writing even before she began painting. She is currently completing a series of related novels collectively entitled Suburban Sprawl. Her novels are set in Bucks County, albeit in a rather surreal version of the area. She uses plots as simple as a soap opera to explore some very complex themes, and she enjoys juxtaposing those archetypal plots with offbeat humor, a glaze of sexuality and a touch of the paranormal. Another life-long interest for Roberta has been Tarot and I Ching. Her compressive guide to reading Tarot cards, The Language of Tarot, is the culmination of over thirty years of work with the Oracle. A series of video companions for Suburban Sprawl and The Language of Tarot are available on Roberta's website, www.RobertaLeeArt.com. She cordially invites you to visit her there to learn more about her books and paintings, and to become her fan on Facebook.
