Dario Toncich was born in Melbourne Australia in 1960. He graduated from the University of Melbourne, in 1983, with honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and subsequently went on to complete a Master of Engineering (by Research) in 1990 and a PhD in Engineering in 1995. During a professional career spanning more than 30 years, Dr. Toncich has held both industry and senior academic positions. He has been the Deputy Director of the Industrial Research Institute (IRIS) at his university, where he was also head of postgraduate research activities and the Chair of the Institute's research committee. Dr. Toncich has supervised more than 22 Doctoral and Master's research candidates to successful completion as principal supervisor, and has authored numerous research papers and six books. Dario Toncich has also been the research performance analyst for a major university and advises on university research performance and benchmarking.
