About the Author

JAMG N KONGTRUL LODR TAYE (1813-1899), a pivotal figure in eastern Tibet's nonsectarian movement, was one of the most outstanding writers and teachers of his time. GYURME DORJE (1950-2020) held a PhD in Tibetan Literature (SOAS, London) and an MA in Sanskrit with Oriental Studies (Edinburgh). He wrote, edited, translated, and contributed to numerous books on Tibetan culture, among them The Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism and The Tibetan Book of the Dead- First Complete Translation.
