John Moriarty was born in County Kerry in 1938. He was educated at St. Michael's College and University College Dublin. He taught English literature at the University of Manitoba in Canada for six years before returning to Ireland in 1971. Moriarty's writings reflected upon the nature of faith, spirituality and mysticism and mingled modern philosophy with ancient concepts. He died in Kerry on the 1st of June, 2007. Michael W Higgins is a Canadian and theologian. He is vice president for Mission and Catholic Identity at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, he is recognised as a notable alumnus of St. Michael's College School and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters from Sacred Heart University in 2008.
