In this book, Alexia Tala explores and investigates the new experimental forms of printmaking, which are today pushing the traditional boundaries of this technique in contemporary art. These include the usage of photo-emulsion, glass and paper, Perspex and paint stripper, printing with sand and digital prints mounted on relief surfaces.
Alexia Tala is a visual artist and independent curator with an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Arts. Her research on contemporary artists using experimental printmaking techniques in installations has uncovered a rapidly expanding movement in England and beyond. She exhibits internationally and has recently curated several major international events while maintaining a role as a visiting lecturer in art institutions in both her home countries of the UK and Chile.
