About the Author

Philip Briggs is a South African travel writer; he first backpacked between Nairobi and Cape Town in 1986 and has been traveling the highways and byways of Africa ever since. He has written guidebooks to destinations all over Africa, including Insight Guides to South Africa, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Namibia, and Gambia and Senegal. He also contributes to specialist travel and wildlife magazines including Africa Birds & Birding, Africa Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Travel Africa and Wanderlust.
