Pete Chandler, a 74 year old native Puerto Rican, who was raised in the streets of New York City, is a retired Federal Government employee with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. He started writing while attending Charles County Community college in Southern Maryland. Since then, he has taken numerous courses in creative writing. As a member of the Johnson County Writers Club, he has garnered first place awards for short stories sponsored by clubs in Texas. His non-fiction articles have been featured in several magazines, including the American Fitness, Long Term Care, and Plus family periodical. He has also written articles for the local newspaper. He served in the armed forces during the Vietnam era. He has also served time as a volunteer at the local hospital, several different nursing homes, and local civic organizations. He enjoys gardening, writing, and working out at the local fitness center.
