About the Author

AJ Smith and Walter Tyler began telling stories together in television news. Walter spent more than a decade as a videojournalist. He is an award-winning filmmaker, as well as an acclaimed artist and photographer. Walter is an Ohio native and graduate of Otterbein University with degrees in mass communications and art. AJ is an award-winning reporter and meteorologist. She holds degrees from Princeton University and Mississippi State University. AJ is passionate about education and has taught at the college level, in addition to frequently reading in classrooms, presenting at science fairs and speaking at career days. AJ and Walter are excited to bring their love of storytelling to children's books. Married since 2011, the couple lives in New York City.
