Nicola McCloy is the author of the bestselling Whykickamoocow, which delves into the meaning of the names of many New Zealand towns, and Made in New Zealand, the stories behind the brands. She has also done some travel writing focusing on provincial New Zealand. Hailing from Southland, but based in Auckland, Nicola spends plenty of time out in the backblocks exploring the best this country has to offer. Fiona McRae began a career in catering in London that continued on her return to New Zealand. She is a partner in a kiwifruit orchard and is enthusiastic about using local seasonal produce. No longer working as a caterer, she is a non-fiction editor with a special interest in cookbooks.
