This gentle prayer book has an artful vibe. Mixed media illustrations of stars, animals and children-which have the comforting feel of children's collaged artwork-are paired with more than 40 poems from various sources, including several of Piper's original offerings ("The storm may roar,/ the wind may blow-/ but Love will never/ let me go"). Many are from the Bible, but traditional/anonymous verses, poems and even a Navajo night chant are also featured, giving the small-format book a broader spiritual vision (and audience). Ages 3-5.
