This takes a little getting used to. Not as many pictures as I would like as thats really where I can get enthusiasm to cook a dish.
I think the best cookbooks are those one opens and the dishes look so delicious that you just have to cook it. This was not like that and in fact sat in my car for a week or so before I bothered to take it into the kitchen It was school pick up reading and despite that still find it hard to get excited about it. Anyway, on the weekend I decided to try his Potato Dauphinoise. I learnt alot about why my previous efforts were dreadful! Read his notes and they were perfect. (ie don't rinse the potatoes before placing into dish, starch mixes with cream to thicken) So you end up with restaurant standard scalloped potatoes as a result. I'll certainly be trying more despite the rocky start!
