PreS-Gr 2-Froggy is excited about the upcoming arrival of a new sibling, but is disappointed when the baby turns out to be a sister rather than the brother he had hoped for. The story is appealing though a bit too long. While the repetition of sounds and the parents' calls for "Froggy!" will appeal to children, this adventure is not quite on a par with previous visits, such as Froggy Gets Dressed (1992) and Let's Go, Froggy! (1994, both Viking). However, it is sure to please this lovable character's many fans.-Andrea Tarr, Corona Public Library, CA Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
Favorite friends return for further adventures. Froggy becomes a big brother in the latest addition to the Froggy series, Froggy's Baby Sister by Jonathan London, illus. by Frank Remkiewicz. "Frrooggyy!" calls his father. "Come see the baby!" Froggy can't wait until Pollywogilina grows a little bigger, so he can teach her how to catch flies and jump off a swing.
