Anne Podlesak is an indie dyer, who also knits, spins and designs
in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Her designs have been
featured in Spin-Off magazine, Interweave special publications such
as Jane Austen Knits, The Unofficial Harry Potter Knits, several
upcoming Cooperative Press books and Yarnwise magazine, as well as
her own independently released
designs.
"One particular thing I personally like in Anne's book is the use
of an introduction at the beginning of each design. To me this
provides the reader with a very vivid description of the southwest
and enables them to understand how Anne drew her inspiration to
create that particular garment." --Peacefully Knitting & More
"Anne is an amazing photographer, writer, knitwear designer, indie
yarn dyer and all-around fiberista. Her technical background in
historical fashion design and her love for fiber and color shines
through in all of her work... Anne's attention to detail and
sophisticated color sensibilities shine through in this carefully
curated collection of hand knits." --Slate Falls Press
"Anne visually captures the feeling of being a free spirit. The
landscapes and the jewelry and the relaxed posture all add up to
the essence of the story of free spirits in every place and every
time." --Talitha Kuomi Design
"There is enough variety here to satisfy most knitters, with simple
stockinette, cables, lace and colorwork designs. Projects for men
are included." --My Central Jersey's "In Stitches" column
