As a Wildland Firefighter for the past 17 years, Harold Larson has fought hundreds of fires throughout Canada, the United States, and Australia. He has a Diploma in Forest Technology and has been a student of fire since he started his firefighting career at the age of 16. Harold was awarded the Australian National Emergency Medal that was established by Her Majesty the Queen for his service during the Black Saturday Bushfires.
"Harold's account of Black Saturday jolted me. Thankfully, the majority of us will never have to experience what he saw that day. Reading about it was hard enough." -Chris Klitbo, NAIT Wildfire Instructor
