About the Author

J. Lindley McKay has studied herpetofauna throughout the Southern Hemisphere, conducting surveys in Australia and South America. Studies in viper ecology took him to Borneo, and he worked as a photographer's assistant in Botswana. In Bolivia, he trained jungle guides. He also worked on the Eastern Barred Bandicoot Recovery Program, Victoria. Currently, his interests are conservation and education, and an investigation into the taxonomy of an unusual morph of an Australian monitor in conjunction with the Queensland and Western Australian museums.
