Jamshed A. Modi is a former Professor, Operations Management, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. An engineer and operations research professional, Dr. Modi did his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Industrial Engineering, from Purdue University, USA, followed by a Ph.D. in Operations Research from North Carolina State University, USA. He has taught courses in Operations Management, Quantitative Methods, Quality, Project Management, Business Statistics and Business Strategy. He was faculty guide to a number of students for their summer internship projects, and for their management research projects in industry. He also undertook short consultancy and training assignments with several large corporates-NRB Bearings, Thane; NRB Bearings, Aurangabad; Tata Motors, Pune; Tata Motors, Lucknow; Mahle Migma, Indore and Miebach Logistics, Bangalore.
