Gino Spada was born and raised in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada.
In 1986, on his twenty- sixth birthday, he opened a full service
health club in his home town while working full time as a machinist
in the aerospace industry. Along with his fitness certification
from the YMCA, he obtained his personal training certification from
the American Council on Exercise in 1991. Although the money was
certainly in the machinist trade, his heart was always with the
health club. After nearly fifteen years in the aerospace industry,
the last seven of which he also ran his health club, he took a leap
of faith and followed his heart. In 1993, he quit his factory job
and became a full time, self-employed health club owner and
operator. He has been training members of his gym one on one for
nearly thirty years, and along with his continuing education and
study, has perfected his craft in strength training and functional
training. It was along that path, as he helped prepare many
aspiring amateur body builders for their day in the spotlight, that
he discovered that weight loss and weight control was simply a
result of eating balanced, healthy meals regularly throughout the
day, and in the right amount.
After years of exposure to misconceptions and deception in the
weight loss industry, Gino made a decision to do right by the
consumer and attempt to eliminate the confusion by writing this
book.
A proud husband and father, an experienced machinist, a successful
business owner, an amateur body builder, a coach, a speaker, an
active real estate investor, and now an accomplished author, Gino
has come full circle with a focus now, on helping as many people as
possible improve their quality of life forever.
