Jos Scharrer was born in East London, South Africa and initially
became a journalist. After marrying Richard Scharrer, the son of
the Dutch Resistance hero Henry, who features significantly in this
book, she lived for four years in Holland before returning to South
Africa.
She has had a highly successful career in advertising culminating
in founding and building up her own agency Scharrer Advertising
into one of the largest independents. Along the way she has won
numerous prestigious international awards. Her agency still
operates today while Jos is spending more time writing.
This is her second published work. Her first The Journalist is a
biography of Flora Shaw, later Lady Lugard, who has been an
important inspiration to Jos.
Jos has three children and six grandchildren.
"It's also a story of betrayal, torture, and death. Those looking for a definitive history of the Dutch Resistance will not find it here, what they will find is the story of brave men and women doing their bit to overthrow a monstrous tyranny."-- "The NYMAS Review"
