Reviews

'An excellent book to have beside one; I am currently keeping mine beside my evening armchair for relaxed browsing.' (Michael Hickson, Vice-President, Devon Gardens Trust, April 2004) 'lavishly illustrated with superb quality images ... and some informative text about the individual history of the gardens and gardeners.' (Devon Life, July 2004) 'The guide is extremely well presented ... The ring-bound presentation adds to the book's practical use for garden visits. ... The book is good value at GBP10.95 and as Michael Hickson writes in the foreword, "Rosemary Lauder has admirably drawn together the many different gardens from within the county, with the purpose of encouraging visitors to them." I'm sure it will successfully achieve that objective.' (John Clark, Devon Gardens Trust, Newsletter, no. 57, Summer 2004) 'A popular guide to gardens open to the public which fills the gap between the Yellow NGS Book and Devon Gardens: an Historical Survey ... . The ring bound presentation adds to the book's practical use for garden visits.' (The Garden History Society News, no. 71, Summer 2004) 'a welcome addition to the shop shelves ... 'a high-quality package ... 'There are bags of bonuses with this book, not least its spiral binding so you can fold back any page at random and stuff the book in your pocket or rucksack without fear of crumples or creases. '... this delightful directory' (North Devon Journal, 15.04.04)
