About the Author

Robin Bowles is a true crime expert. She has tackled some of the most high profile crimes in Australian including BLIND JUSTICE, about the death of a Victorian housewife, Allen & Unwin, 1984; JUSTICE DENIED, about the murder of Victorian child Jaidyn Leskie, Pan, 1999, TAKEN IN CONTEMPT, about the kidnapping of children during custody battles, Pan 2000, and WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO FREEDA HAYES, about the euthanasia killing of a Perth woman, Pan 2002. She has four grown up sons and lives in Melbourne with her husband. She is 57 and the national convenor of Sisters in Crime Australia Inc. Robin's media contacts are well established in Australia and in the UK. Including interviews about the case on BBC TV, the Guardian website, Yorkshire Radio and Real FM, also in Yorkshire. In February, 2005, Robin took part in the filming of a documentary on the case to be aired in the UK by SKY TV. The date is not set yet, but it is likely to air at the end of April or early May.
