About the Author

Mike Lefroy's love affair with cricket began with late night vigils and scratchy broadcasts of Test matches from England via a homemade crystal set. He never made it past backyard cricket but remains fascinated by the sights, sounds and stories of Australia's favourite summer pastime. Mike loves the challenge of bringing stories alive for children. Most of his books are about ships and the sea but his last two are stories of kids and cricket. As a kid, Khrob Edmonds only ever stopped drawing if his neighbours needed a fielder for their backyard cricket games. He has lived all around the world, but was very happy to make it back home to Perth in time to catch the last men's Ashes Test at the WACA Ground. As well as illustrating books, Khrob makes films, and develops apps for some of the world's largest tech companies.
