Allan Simmons is one of the world's top Scrabble tournament and competition players. Allan is UK National Champion, and the 2008 British Masters Scrabble Champion; he competes at tournaments around the world, and is a regular member of the UK team for the World Scrabble Championships. He publishes his own Scrabble magazine Onwords, for private circulation, has been contributing a Scrabble column and puzzle to The Times regularly for the last four years, and he also organizes Scrabble courses for clubs and a wide range of non-Scrabble organizations, such as the WI. He is one of the founder members of the Association of British Scrabble Players, and was its president from 1988-99, and currently sits on the committee of the World English-Language Scrabble Players' Association (WESPA).
