Richie Fitzgerald is Ireland's first, and most successful, pro surfer. He competed at both European and World Championship level, and was the first European invited to the world's most prestigious big-wave event, the Eddie Aiku Invitational in Hawaii. Born in Bundoran, Co. Donegal, he was the founder of Ireland's first and largest surf shop, Surfworld. He has two children with his wife, Briohny, and chases the summer by splitting his time between Ireland and Australia.
