'The first edition of this volume provided an accessible resource for students and clinicians, linking theory, research and practice. It assisted clinicians in the use of theoretically grounded assessment and to make evidence-based choices for treatment. The second edition builds on the first, updating assessment choices and treatment literature, and also by providing clear guidance on what steps need to be taken to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, and discussing the broader context of aphasia therapy. This volume should be considered essential reading for students and an invaluable reference for clinicians.' - Lyndsey Nickels, Department of Cognitive Science, Macquarie University, Australia 'The 2nd edition of A Cognitive Neuropsychological Approach to Assessment and Intervention in Aphasia is unique, focusing as it does on the therapeutic application of principled clinical research findings. It is a joy to read such a coherently presented text: it's very clearly and transparently written, with excellent examples throughout making it highly accessible to clinicians, students and teachers. This 2nd edition includes expanded sections on assessment and treatment and the relationship of cognitive neuropsychological approaches to other contemporary developments in intervention for aphasia.' - Chris Code, Department of Psychology, University of Exeter, UK
