The book concludes with a substantial section of devotions and prayers to Our Lady.
Rachel Billington is a novelist, writer and journalist. She is the daughter of Lord and Lady Longford and comes from a family of writers. Among her many novels have been Beautiful and A Woman's Age. Gered Mankowitz is the son of the celebrated author and playwright Wolf Mankowitz, and is a world renowned photographer. His work includes images of many famous rock artists, including The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush and Jimi Hendrix.
Mankowitz s small-format full-page photos on heavy glossy paper reveal the mosaics in all their splendid colors and designs, right down to the configurations of the tiles. Lady Billington s commentaries on the mosaics are beautiful in their own right, not only revealing the iconography and the history of the mosaics but also inspiring devotion to Mary.
