Neil Plakcy is the author of the Mahu Investigations, about openly gay Honolulu homicide detective Kimo Kanapa'aka, available from MLR Press in paper and e-book editions. He has also written five books in the Have Body, Will Guard adventure romance series from Loose Id. The newest, Under the Waterfall, releases in July, 2013. His other books include four in the Golden Retriever Mystery series (Dog Bless You will be out in summer 2013) as well as numerous other M/M romances. He has also edited seven anthologies of erotic fiction for Cleis Press (the newest, Beach Bums, debuts in June 2013) as well as publishing four volumes of his own erotic fiction. Plakcy is a journalist and book reviewer as well as an assistant professor of English at Broward College's south campus in Pembroke Pines. He is former president of the Florida chapter of Mystery Writers of America. He has been a construction manager, a computer game producer, and a second-place finisher on Jeopardy!
