Reviews

"With their inviting courtyards, colonial facades, and Art Deco details, the homes documented in writer and designer Annie Kelly's Casa Mexico: At Home in Merida and the Yucatan are the epitome of bohemian-chic. . . [The book contains] homes that capture the Merida aesthetic, blending age-old details with contemporary stylings. They're the stuff virtual daydreams are made of."
-ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST

"A new book, Casa Mexico: At Home in Merida and the Yucatan is captivating. Beautiful light plays with world class photographer Tim Street-Porter's camera inspiring some of the most engaging and evocative interior design photographs I've seen in some time. The interiors discovered and profiled in the book by Street-Porter and writer Annie Kelly are at once elegant, modern and ancient."
-LITTLE AUGURY BLOG "The charm, allure, and colorful beauty of Mexico have long captivated designers. . . [Annie Kelly] takes the reader on a tour of modern villas, rustic bungalows, and brilliantly colored town houses, with an eye on the unique craftsmanship, artistry, and bohemian aesthetic."
-ARRAY MAGAZINE "Hot climates with spicy, messy food and cool tiles always appeal. Being captured by the incredibly talented Annie Kelly and Tim Street-Porter, [Casa Mexico] made the homes of artists, designers, architects and aesthetes more appealing, if that is at all possible."
-MRS. BLANDINGS BLOG
"There is a certain enduring allure of a Spanish Colonial house - color-saturated tiles and dark wooden ceiling beams both contrasted with muted white stucco walls. Homes such as these, but within the Yucatan region of Mexico, and the town of Merida in particular, are the focus of [Casa Mexico] . . . An inspiration for any restoration enthusiast and a spare-no-detail approach for the DIY artistically advanced."
-VOGUE "Tour this evocative region through the words and images of Los Angeles designer Annie Kelly and her husbnad, photographer Tim Street-Porter, in this coffee-table tome [Casa Mexico] featuring dreamy interiors and vibrant streetscapes that reflect the Yucatan's cultural diversity and the trends it has inspired."
-SUNSET MAGAZINE "Dreaming of a getaway? For your vacay inspo, take a peek at these gorgeous colonial haciendas (or ranch villas) in Merida, Mexico, a vibrant city tucked away on the Yucatan Peninsula. Thanks to a growing community of international tastemakers, many of the town's colorful facades and Baroque stone arches, highlighted in interior designer Annie Kelly's newly released photo book, Casa Mexico, have been meticulously restored to radiate old world charm and artisanal Mayan craftsmanship."
