The next war starts in cyberspace. This is a thrilling action novel set in the not-too-distant future in which a brilliant young computer hacker fights to prevent the human race from being erased. It would take a very special person to crack the computer systems of the White House. An expert. A genius. A devil. All of the above, some would say. Someone like Sam Wilson, brilliant teenage computer hacker. But Sam's obsession is about to lead him into a dangerous world. A world of espionage and intrigue; of cybercrime and imminent war. A world where logging on to your computer could mean the difference between life and death. It is an action-packed, sci-fi adventure story full of danger and excitement - perfect for kids who love Alex Rider. The 'geek-chic' aesthetic and modern technological focus should appeal to teenagers. It explores complex scientific and philosophical issues in an accessible way that kids will find both fascinating and thrilling.
Brian Falkner was born and raised in Auckland. He is the author of several novels for children including, The Flea Thing (shortlisted for the LIANZA Esther Glen Award, 2004), The Real Thing, and The Super Freak (shortlisted, NZ Post Awards, 2006), as well as the new action adventure sci-fi novel, The Tomorrow Code which was shortlisted for the New Zealand Post Awards and the Esther Glen Award at the LIANZA Awards, both on 2009.
