About the Author

Leon Krier was born in 1946 in Luxembourg but recently settled in Provence after living in England for twenty years. He is internationally known as a renovator of traditional architecture and urbanism. His theories form part of the urban development recommendations of the OECD and the European Union. They have been widely applied in the United States, via the New Urbanism movement, and, more recently, in Europe. Leon Krier is a personal adviser to the Prince of Wales, for whom he is masterplanning the new city of Poundbury in Dorset in the United Kingdom.

Reviews

"Reading this book I could 'physically' feel the poison of classicism slowly and gently invading my veins. Is it a theraphy or an addiction?" Bernardo Bertolucci "This book should be on the table of all contemporary architects; but they would go bright red whenever they looked at it." Jean Dutourd, of the Academie Francaise
