Improv comedy has been popularised in the U.S. and U.K by the hit television show Who's Line is it Anyway? but improv has been around giving people laughs and goose-bumps for a long time. 101 IMPROV GAMES FOR CHILDREN & ADULTS is an accessible guide to this magical art of creating something out of nothing - and bringing an audience to laughter using skills you didn't even know you possessed. The author explains the basis of improv, the do's and don'ts of performing and how to teach improv to children. Basic exercises, from simple warm up activities to over-the-top crowd pleasing games, are explained with clear instructions on how to do them, what things to watch for and avoid and how to know if you are succeeding! The games in this book include freeze tag games, emotional games, fairy games, directed games, guessing games and narrative games. Also included are tips on subjects ranging from advanced improv techniques, putting together an improv troupe and putting on your very own show. Ages 6 & up

This book goes through the basic do's and don'ts of improv - and then gives heaps of games for everyone. For those that are petrified of the idea of improv - there are plenty of easy ones as well as the more full on.
