  • If you never caught their short-lived TV show, you'll probably be most familiar with Tenacious D through the appearance of singer Jack Black as the bile-spitting music geek in the film HIGH FIDELITY. The sarcastic humor Black employed in that movie is a clue to the sound of his duo Tenacious D. With his partner Kyle Gass, Black digs into various areas of rock mythology and skewers them in fine comedic style. Whether he's delivering a mock-metal ode to heavy metal hero Ronnie James Dio in the appropriately titled "Dio" or indulging in too-outrageous-to-be-crass single-entendre sexual humor on "Kielbasa," Black's humor is always spot-on. While his no-holds-barred approach may be too much for some, those with a taste for the tasteless will find unending laughter in this disc.

If you like this album you obviously have good taste! The Complete Master Works DVD is what you should have, most of the music on this album is on the complete master works dvd in a live concert along with 6 HBO episodes which is what the movie was based on A+ for this album and JB & KG

awesome album, jack black and kyle gass are top class legends! great guitar work and very complex, awesome humor and great talent all mixed up into one kick ass album. a must for any music lover, this will be an album everybody talks about, no doubt about it, although people who don't swear or do not approve of swearing and dirty humor may not appreciate the greatness of this album.

Jack Black and Kyle Gas are the only true rockers out there. The are armed to the teeth with spirit of stickin it to the man. Possesed by demons, this album is hilarious and rocks out seriously. Great stuff

this is a pretty good album from tenacious d, comprising of funny man jack black, and a friend, who i also think is a movie star. i quite like listening to this, but it does wear me thin at times with the lack of real music, and just story telling. good for a small laugh, but not really much more than that.

How truly talented are Jack Black and Kyle Gass. These to men have created a humouros album that actually displays their instrumental and vocal talent as musicians. Although it has been their only release as yet, the upcoming Tenacious D movie, 'the pick of destiny' should get people riled up enough to go out and buy this excellent album.

This album is actually pretty funny (nothing close to GWAR or Anal Cunt) and not as poppy as I expected. The best songs are "Wonderboy" and "Drive Thru". This proves Jack Black is not just a good actor, he has the ability to create hilarious music. I wonder if these guys are still around, they were a bit of a one hit wonder.
