Surrender, subtitled "The Unexpected Songs", comes from Sunset Boulevard (in which it is also a recurring melody) and is the first track on this collection. This album comprises mostly Sarah Brightman's covers of tunes from the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber which has been in her concert repertoire, as well as some of her previous "pop" singles. For example, it does include the original "Pie Jesu" from Requiem, as well as the theme for the Barcelona 1992 Olympics, "Amigos Para Siempre". A number of songs are also given in alternate languages - "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" in Spanish, and "With One Look" and "Memory" in Italian - to suit her high voice. Without all the flash of her latter pop-oriented albums, this remains one of her most beloved albums to date.
