• Like the band's debut, SORRY MA, FORGOT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH, this follow-up EP pays homage to punk rock by keeping things loud, sloppy, hard and relentlessly paced. Pile-driving rhythms by drummer Chris Mars and bassist Tommy Stinson, screaming leads from guitarist Bob Stinson and the shredded, breathless vocals of Paul Westerberg fuel these slices of white knuckle hardcore. The effect created is the sonic equivalent of a speeding car careening through a wall of burning televisions.
  
• The track titles say it all. "Kids Don't Follow," "Fuck School," "Goddamn Job," "Dope Smokin' Moron," and "Gimme Noise" should, in musical execution and thematic orientation, convince any listener beyond a shadow of a doubt of STINK's pure punk ethos. Like their similarly styled contemporaries Husker Du and Soul Asylum, the Replacements grew as musicians and songwriters, with a greater concern for melody, throughout the '80s; STINK is an ear-shaking testament to the band's no nonsense, hardcore roots.
