This album is wonderful for any fans of Neil Young, or even any fans of the grunge movement of the 90's spearheaded by Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. This album is lyrically a masterpiece, where Young talks about the effects of fame and the ghosts of the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ("Thrasher"), the destruction of the lands of Native Americans ("Pocahontas"), and his thoughts on his future and his status as a musician (Both the opening and closing tracks, the former being the place where Kurt Cobain famously got the Neil Young quote that he used in his suicide note). Musically the album is powerful, featuring striking melodies, bright, ringing guitars, some alternately vulnerable and powerful vocals and wrenchingly mournful harmonica solos. The album is nearly perfect; cohesive, melodic and emotionally gripping.
