  • Karunesh's debut album is an atmospheric meditation for piano and synthesizer. The synthesizer often sings like a bamboo flute, evoking the Zen practice of shakuhachi flute-meditation. The songs unwind slowly and gracefully, summoning a sense of peace in the listener. Subtle vocal samples and limpid guitar float through the mix, but the production is mostly a bare-bones affair meant for healing. ZEN BREAKFAST fits in nicely alongside the recordings of artists like Steven Halpern and Dean Evenson.

This is definitely Karunesh. The tracks are relaxing, moving and deep. Although it does not have the beats that some of Karunesh's other CDs have, like Global Spirit, it is very enjoyable nonetheless. I recommend it.
