- Joining together for the first time, legendary Indian classical musician Ali Akbar Khan and beloved singer Srimati Asha Bhosle present 12 classical pieces from 16th- to 18th-century India for voice, sarode, and tabla. Akbar Khan masterfully handles his sarode and Asha Bhosle's vocals have never sounded better. US fans familiar with Bhosle's pop and cabaret film music will enjoy discovering her traditional side. This 1997 Grammy nominee is a good introduction to the stirring sounds of Indian classical music.
