Performer Notes
Amici Forever is made up of five camera-ready young singers with talent and charisma to spare. So what distinguishes them from the burgeoning ranks of crossover hopefuls? The group's wide vocal range and imaginative approach enables it to transform even a much-abused warhorses into fresh-sounding anthems. Their formal training provides the necessary technique and understanding to do justice to the classics, and the enthusiasm and respect they show for their material steers them far clear of the banality that mars a good deal of crossover music.
DEFINED picks up where the quintet's enormously successful debut disc, OPERA BAND, left off, with more stylish arrangements of memorable melodies from the orchestral repertoire, as well as soaring, quasi-operatic ballads. Highlights include impressive vocal renditions of themes from Beethoven's Seventh Symphony ("Land and Freedom"), Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto ("Nostalgia"), Khachaturian's 'Spartacus' ("Ocean Heart"), and Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez ("Aranjuez Ma pensee"). The group also works its magic on two original songs by Ronan Hardiman, "So Far Away" and "La Fiamma Sacra," as well as Ennio Moriccone's "Nella Fantasia" and the classic Neapolitan song "Core 'ngrato." Amici Forever expertly delivers another guaranteed crowd-pleaser with DEFINED.

A most enjoyable CD with a large range of classical arias and modern songs in different styles and languages showcasing their wonderful harmonies.... has appeal to lovers of opera and lighter classics...quality music
This group blends the soaring voices of Opera with the easy-listenign fo more modern styles in the fashion of another wonderful group, Il Divo. From start to finish the songs are powerful and at times emotional. A particular favourite is the original composition that tells a Maori legend. I assume this is thanks the the New Zealander in the group (now retired). An enjoyable and more approachable CD for those who think they might like Opera but can't be faced diving into anything heavy.

I've heard rumors of this wonderful band comming to New Zealand.
Anyway this album is wonderful from start to finish, it has what every album should have strong voca delivery and great music, really really soft and good to listen to.
Brillant CD, great relaxing chill out music, every track outstanding sound and talent. May this group continue making music for many more years. International and national talent at its best, playing soon in NZ, a group not to be missed if you get the opportunity to go and see them. Even if your not into classical music, you might enjoy this group.
