Following on from their hugely successful multi platinum & 4 x
Grammy Award winning album ‘Only By The Night’, Kings Of Leon
are back with ‘Come Around Sundown’ featuring lead single
‘Radioactive’.
This new album is yet another bold and expansive statement by
the Nashville, Tennessee-based quartet. ‘Come Around Sundown’
was recorded in New York at Avatar Studios and produced once
again by Angelo Petraglia and Jacquire King. Their fifth studio
album found frontman Caleb Followill and Co. stepping outside
their traditional guitar-bass-drums arrangements, adding fiddle,
trumpet, and lap steel to select tracks.
Tracks:
1. The End
2. Radioactive
3. Pyro
4. Mary
5. The Face
6. The Immortals
7. Back Down South
8. Beach Side

Performer Notes - Audio Mixer: Jacquire King .
- Recording information: Avatar Studios, New York, NY; Blackbird Studio, Nashville, TN.
- Photographer: Dan Winters.
- Released two years after the international breakthrough hit Only by the Night, Come Around Sundown continues Kings of Leon's journey into the upper echelon of mainstream pop/rock, with super-sized choruses and guitar heroics thrown in for good measure.
Professional Reviews Billboard (p.40) - "'Mi Amigo' has the stripped-down junkie rock jangle of the greatest songs from 2005's AHA SHAKE HEARTBREAK."
Mojo (Publisher) (p.94) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "The turning point is 'Back Down South'....[They] tap into a real passion, Caleb singing with tangible warmth over guitars and fiddles that curl like wood smoke."
Clash (magazine) - "Caleb Followill opens his heart throughout -- he sounds yearning; his usual fervid bawls here turn into tender pines."
Record Collector (magazine) (p.84) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[W]ith 'The Face,' an atmospheric ballad with a weirdly Joy Division-flavoured tone."
Uncut (magazine) (p.89) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The band keep the pedal to the metal with 'The Immortals', a massive slab of mutated Southern boogie with a funky groove in the transitions leading into a stately cadence under mushroom-cloud choruses."
Uncut (magazine) (p.34) - Ranked #50 in Uncut's "The 50 Best Albums Of 2010" -- "[P]otent...playing to the band's contradictory strengths."
