Reviews

Apologies -_ my previous review was meant for their 2nd Album Two shoes (Which was recorded in Cuba).
Although, for their debut album. This album is still quite a cohesive offering showing the range of their influences and genres.
I found it most enjoyable and still listen to it frequently.
I'm sorry to disappoint other reviewers here-_ but this album has stood the test of time.
If you're the kind of person that only likes hit songs -_ then yes, there are only a few songs you'll know (like every other album on the martket), but if you give this album some time you can really hear the Cuban influences (where it was recorded) and the flow of the Cat Empire is addictive.
Such an awesome live band, but this is a brilliant album expression of their talents
this is another really classy cd by the cat empire, whose jazz beats are destined to be played in numerous cafes and bars everywhere. some really cool songs on here, with many different beats that make for some really orginal listening. good stuff, one for fans. i really like One, Four, Five on this album.
I don't see what there is like like about the Cat Empire, but each to their own I guess.
The Cat Empire can't really be boxed into one category and maybe that's what appeals to listeners.
Their first single was highly irritating as was everything that followed.
Maybe if they had a better vocalist my ideas might change, but until then this is far from my wishlist.
Disappointing, in general, apart from a good song or two. Too up and down, varied, and all over the place, for me. I suppose it was not quite what I was expecting, but the chances of this being played again go from never to hardly ever, I think. You can count me as not a fan of the band, or not likely to be. Possibly they are better live after some beers.
