In my opinion, this is the best album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. You can't go wrong with classics like 'Suck my Kiss' and 'Under the Bridge'. If you're a younger fan and like their newer stuff, give this album a try. It's definitely worth a listen and deserves a place in the record collection of every nineties kid.

This in my honest opinion is the Red Hot Chili Peppers best album ever. Its got some great funky tunes on it some are great, some not so great. If you listen closely all the lyrics sound like there based on the chili peppers lives. "under the bridge" is one of RHCPs best selling singles to date with other classics on this album such as:
suck my kiss
give it away
blood sugar sex magic
breaking the girl
and many more

The Chili Peppers' best album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik benefits immensely from Rick Rubin's production — Frusciante's guitar is less overpoweringly noisy, leaving room for differing textures and clearer lines, while the band overall is more focused and less indulgent, even if some of the grooves drag on too long. Lyrically, Kiedis is as preoccupied with sex as ever, whether invoking it as his muse, begging for it, or boasting in great detail about his prowess, best showcased on the infectiously funky singles "Give It Away" and "Suck My Kiss." However, he tempers his testosterone with a more sensitive side, writing about the emotional side of failed relationships ("Breaking the Girl," "I Could Have Lied"), his drug addictions ("Under the Bridge" and an elegy for Hillel Slovak, "My Lovely Man"), and some hippie-ish calls for a peaceful utopia. Three of those last four songs (excluding "My Lovely Man") mark the band's first consistent embrace of lilting acoustic balladry, and while it's not what Kiedis does best as a vocalist, these are some of the album's finest moments, varying and expanding the group's musical and emotional range. Frusciante departed after the supporting tour, leaving Blood Sugar Sex Magik as probably the best album the Chili Peppers will ever make

Great album! But it isn't the best REd hot Chili peppers album because it is too hard to tell which is the best! This album is great because it has lots and lots of songs to listen to so you will never get bored! My favorite is Under the Bridge because i like that sound that the Chilis were just developing! Although after saying that I still think Californication is my all-time favorite!

This is probably RHCP's best complete album (outside their Greatest Hits) and the album that broke them into the mainstream and got them some real attention. A lot of this can be attributed to the release of Under The Bridge which was an uncharacteristic move for them as it was their first real ballad.
Give It Away, Breaking The Girl, Suck My Kiss, all excellent songs in their own right, and Sir Psycho Sexy is a bit of a laugh to listen to.
You don't see many albums these days with 17 tracks either so it's good quality.
It's a shame that RHCP have turned to making so much soft rock music these days, but this one's a classic.

blood sugar sex majik is a great album by the red hot chili peppers, it is definatley one of my favourite releases from the band. some of the fantastic songs on here include The Righteous And The Wicked, give it away, Apache Rose Peacock, Suck My Kiss and if you have to ask. this is a really wicked album.

awesoema lbum by the classic rock band of the last couple of decades, the red hot chili peppers. there are a whole lot of great songs on here like Mellowship Slinky In B Major, if you have to asl, give it away and, ofcourse, under the bridge. get this album if you are a fan and don't own it, you need it!

AWESOME AND THE BEST ALBUM EVER! This is by far the best album the chilis have produced. You can let the whole album run without skipping a song and with each song there a timeless and funky feel about it. It still sounds as good as the day it was released in 1990!! Under The Bridge, Suck My Kiss, Give it Away.........the name of the excellent songs continue!!! If this was your first chilis album to get you should definatley get this first. 5 OUT OF 5 ABSOULTELY NO DOUBT

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is probably the most well known and loved of the Chilli Peppers albums. It really changed things for the band as their defining album.
Songs like Give it Away, Breaking the Girl, Under the Bridge and Suck my Kiss all call this album home.
And these were massive songs when the album was released and remain as some of their best for many.
A great rock CD that all RHCP lovers should have in their collection.

blood sugar sex magik is a GREAT album by the red hot chili peppers. it contains such great hits as under the bridge and give it away, plus other great songs such as Mellowship Slinky In B Major, Apache Rose Peacock, Breaking The Girl and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. if you love the band but don't have this album, get it because it is an essential.
